2013: Rotax Max Kart Open Championship (Rookie Category) 2nd in Rd.1, Rd.2 & Overall
First ever race in Senior Rotax Max. Rotax Max is one of the worlds top and most popular karting series. These engines have over 2 times the power of the Yamaha KT100 Engine. This was my first time racing rotax, at a new track, along with 40+ Degrees Celsius Temperatures ! Safe to say, I finished as the top complete newcomer to rotax, and 2nd in the championship.
2013: Rotax Max National Karting Championship (6th of 22 Drivers) in 1st Season & Top Rookie
This is the highest level karting championship in India. It was a strong year to begin with, finishing 6th in my first race, and even qualifying 4th in Rd.2, ahead of numerous national champions. There was much to learn and improve in terms of race craft over 5 race weekends. Glad to say I made constant progress, had good results and learnt a lot racing at this level.
Though little did I realise at the time, I raced the full season on one engine without any rebuilds. While the top runners were rebuilding their engines after almost ever race.
2014: Rotax Kart Open Championship (Open Category) 3rd in Rd.2
This was very competitive at the top end of the grid. Qualified 2nd both rounds. Finished 4th overall due to an incident in Rd.1, and 3rd in Rd.2.
I ran on same engine from last season. Without a single rebuild. It was a tough race, having been low on power. Towards the end of the final race in Round 2, the engine warning light came on. I thought I wasn’t going to finish…but managed to finish the race and clinch onto 3rd
2014-15: UK Karting Club Racing
Was one of the most challenging times in my racing career. Raced in sub-zero temps. Even on ice for the first time in my life. Had much to learn against many drivers who’d been racing 10+ years. I developed a lot as a driver, and had a best finish of 4th in my first full wet race.
Entered into LGM iame X30 championship for 2015. Though an injury just days before season started made me miss a few rounds. After a lot of consideration, I made the tough decision to pull out of the championship and stop my university course in England.
